Privacy Policy
Last updated 20 August 2026.
Bookzi ("we", "us") provides a booking platform used by independent practices — consultants, therapists, beauty studios, driving instructors, personal trainers, and similar businesses ("practices") — to manage appointments with their own clients. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how it's protected, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who this applies to
Practice owners and staff who sign up for Bookzi, and clients who book an appointment through a practice's Bookzi page. For clients, the practice is the responsible party under POPIA and Bookzi acts as their operator (processor).
What we collect
From practice owners and staff: name, email address, a securely hashed password, business name, address/city, logo and branding choices. From clients, via the practice they're booking with: name, phone number, optionally an email address, and booking details. Bookzi never collects payment details — no payment gateway is connected to the booking flow. Bookzi does not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
Who else sees this data
A small number of service providers run Bookzi, each for a specific job: Cloudflare (hosting, database, file storage), Meta/WhatsApp Business Platform (booking confirmations and reminders, when a practice has that on), Resend (transactional email), and Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook, only if an owner or staff member has personally connected their own account. We do not sell personal information.
Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to object to how it's processed. Clients of a Bookzi-powered practice should contact that practice directly. For anything about Bookzi itself, contact us at hello@bookzi.co.za.
